Production Support: Debug, Cycle Time, and Coverage
Engineers on your floor through startup, launch, and the shifts agreed in the scope, then a clean handoff to your team.
PLC, HMI, and robot debug at the machine, cycle-time work against your target, and production coverage on the agreed shifts, on Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, KUKA, FANUC, and ABB. Then a clean handoff.

Scope
What production support can include
A few days on one cell after startup, or shift coverage through a launch. Each engagement is scoped to what the line needs.
On-site debug
Faults chased down at the machine: PLC logic, robot programs, HMI, drives, I/O, and the handshakes between them, fixed on the floor and written down.
Cycle-time support
Where the cycle goes, measured step by step against the target. Then robot paths, waits, handshakes, and PLC sequencing are trimmed, and the result is checked over full production runs.
Production coverage
An engineer on the agreed shifts through launch and ramp-up, so a stop gets a controls answer at the machine instead of a callback.
Launch and ramp-up
From first parts to rate: program changes as the process settles, fault-recovery steps operators can run, and the punch list closed out.
Documentation
A running log of every change and fault, as-left program backups, and updated drawings or notes where the work changed them.
Handoff
Walkthroughs for your maintenance and engineering team on the cell as it runs today, the open-items list, and the backups, so your people own it when we leave.

Platforms
What we support in production
The team that programs these platforms supports them on the floor.
| Siemens | S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200, and S7-1500 in Step 7 and TIA Portal; WinCC and Comfort Panels; SINAMICS drives |
|---|---|
| Allen-Bradley | ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PLC-5, and SLC 500 in Studio 5000 and RSLogix; FactoryTalk View; PowerFlex and Kinetix drives |
| Beckhoff | TwinCAT 3 PLC and motion, EtherCAT I/O and drives |
| Robots | KUKA, FANUC, and ABB: paths, teaching, and the cell logic around them |
| HMI and SCADA | FactoryTalk View, WinCC, TwinCAT HMI, and Ignition |
| Networks | EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and EtherCAT, with I/O checkout on the floor |

How a job runs
How production support runs
- 01
Scope the coverage
Which cells, which shifts, what done looks like, and who on your team takes over, agreed in writing before we arrive.
- 02
Baseline at the machine
Current faults, downtime, and cycle time measured on the floor, so every change has a before and after.
- 03
Debug and tune
Faults fixed at the source and cycle time worked down, with every program change backed up and logged.
- 04
Cover production
An engineer on the agreed shifts through launch and ramp-up, answering stops at the machine.
- 05
Hand off
Walkthroughs with your team, the change log, the open-items list, and as-left backups. Then we step back.
Need us again after handoff? Remote support can be set up before you need it. Line down? Call (877) 790-4697, 24/7, subject to personnel availability. We aim to be on site within 4 hours locally and 24 hours stateside, subject to personnel availability.
Why TS Controls
Why TS Controls
One team from the PLC to the robot
A lot of production problems live at the boundary: the robot waits on the PLC, the PLC waits on the robot. We program both sides.
At the machine, not on the phone
Evaluations happen at the machine, so the first trip is not a guessing trip.
Work fits your shifts
Field work follows the outage window and the shifts the plant needs, including nights and weekends.
Legacy platforms included
PLC-5, SLC 500, and S7-300 lines are in our scope, alongside current controllers.
We don’t inflate scope
You get a written scope sized to the job, not a padded day rate.

From the floor
Answered on The Floor.
- How many robots per body-shop cell before the PLC scan is the bottleneck?
- FANUC TP program — skip/jump that only fails on the second cycle
- KUKA interrupt fires twice on the same skip — path jerks, then continues
- S7-1500 watchdog after a TIA V19 download — cell stays in STOP
- Studio 5000 compare before download — what do you actually look at?
- 15-year-old Logix with no comments — do you comment in place or wrap and walk away?

Questions
Production support, answered.
What is production support?
Controls engineers on your floor after startup: debugging PLC, HMI, and robot faults at the machine, working cycle time down to target, covering the agreed shifts through launch, and handing the cell to your team with documentation.
Can you support a line someone else programmed?
Yes. We read what is running, back it up before we change anything, and document every change we make. Messy code is normal.
How long do you stay?
As long as the scope says: a few days on one cell, or shift coverage through a launch. The handoff date and what done looks like are agreed up front.
Can you help us hit cycle time?
Yes. We measure where the cycle goes step by step, then work on robot paths, waits, handshakes, and PLC sequencing, and check the result over full production runs.
Which platforms do you support on the floor?
Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Beckhoff controllers, KUKA, FANUC, and ABB robots, and the HMIs, drives, and networks around them, legacy hardware included.
What should we send with an RFQ?
The cells or lines, the platforms on each, the shifts you need covered, the start date, and what done looks like. Attach layouts or a fault list with the form on this page (up to 10 MB), or email sales@ts-controls.com.
