MQTT Sparkplug vs OPC UA for a hall dashboard — pick one and why
The question
We already have UA on the 1500s. Corporate heard Sparkplug. I can run both and I will hate myself. For read-only KPIs, what did you standardize, and what did you tell the cloud team they don't get?

UA in the cell. MQTT at the edge, outbound, Sparkplug if you already have the broker discipline. Don't put a second client on the PLC. Cloud gets a tag contract, not a subnet. Two protocols on the controller is how a scan dies on a Tuesday.
