ABB RAPID — World zone stops the cell only on shift change
The question
IRC5, two robots, world zone around a fixture. Fine all day. Shift change, someone jogs in teach, world zone trips and the auto path won't recover without a full restart. Is that expected, and how do you recover without teaching the whole thing again?

Jogging through a world zone in teach will set a state the auto task still sees. Recover with a programmed path out of the zone, not a restart. We added a 'clear zone' routine on the PLC that the operator hits after teach. If you disable the zone to get out, document it — that's how cells lose a finger later.
