Troubleshooting plant job vs integrator — which one actually teaches you?
The question
Offer A: stay in the plant, no travel, same five cells. Offer B: integrator, hotels, new iron. I like fixing things. I don't want to become the person who only clears the same fault. What did you pick, and what did you lose?
TS ControlsThe answer
Plant work teaches depth and politics. Integrator work teaches new platforms and ugly schedules. The trap on the floor is management that will not let you fix the root. The trap on the road is never seeing your own code age. Do two years of each if you can. Document everything either way.
TS ControlsOne more thing
Troubleshooting other people's code is the real school. Implementation is cleaner but you don't learn how plants actually fail until 2 a.m.
